RECYCLED – the Cover

So, today’s the day. I played around with some photos my daughter sent me, of the Chicago skyline, and this is what I came up with:

 recycledcover

Comments? Thoughts?

Here’s my reasoning, before you give me those comments and thoughts:

I like order and planning and organization, so I kept with the same “theme” for all three novels. Now, if I had had much of a brain last summer, I would have commissioned the very talented Shannon Yarbrough to do my covers – he is amazing!

Alas, I didn’t, and that – to my mind – locked me into the symmetry of the three book covers. REDUCED is green, REUSED is brown, RECYCLED is gray. Forest for REDUCED, cave for REUSED, cityscape for RECYCLED. Get it?

Hmmm. Maybe I’ll do a ten-year anniversary release and change them all? That’s a long way off, so in the meantime, RECYCLED will be coming out very, very soon – July 27!

Now – comment away!

  1. I love it! Thanks for the mention. Would have been glad to help, but I think having the trilogy all look alike is important. Nicely done!

  2. Love it! I think series should all have the same theme for covers too.

I think you picked a great trilogy theme and love how it ties to a popular saying in an idiomatic sort of way and carries the theme into the covers.

  4. I actually like the cityscape best! Another to be read for my shelf – no time to write, I have too much reading to do.

I think you need better contrast between the author name and the background so it stands out better. The cover also needs some hint as to what the story is about, either through taglines or recommends or??? And since it is a series, I would dearly love to know the series name and where this particular story falls within the series.

    • I appreciate your suggestions, but all my books are on the right side of the page. It seemed obvious to me, but maybe it isn’t, in which order they fall. And, if you click on any of the covers, it takes you to my website where you can find out more.
